Sylvain Saïghi was born in Paris, France, in 1974. He received the M.S. degree in Electronics, Electrotechnical and Automatics from University Bordeaux 1 in 1998. During training at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, he obtained the ‘Agrégation de Génie Electrique’ in 1999. He received PhD degree in electronics from University Bordeaux 1 in 2004. His thesis was on analog integrated circuits dedicated to computational neurosciences. In 2005, he received the M.S. degree in Cognitive Sciences from University Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2.
He is currently Associate Professor in Laboratory IXL (UMR 5818 CNRS / ENSEIRB – University Bordeaux 1). His research is focused on STDP (Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity) in learning and optimization algorithms to identify single neuron biophysic parameters.
