NEURoVERS-it is targeted at reinforcing an emerging interdisciplinary Neuro – Cognitive – IT research community in Europe, three major research and development areas, neuroscience-cognitive science research, robotics research and the field of “Neuro-IT”. The following figure schematically indicates the three interdisciplinary research areas and their potential spin-offs.

The partnership composition has been chosen to involve multiple partners from complementary research discipline covering:
• Neuroscience
• Cognitive science
• Robotics
• Microelectronics
• Biomedical Research

The NEURoVERS-it consortium consists of 11 principal contractors from 6 European Union countries with highly complementary expertise and backgrounds. The academic partners involved are internationally highly recognized in their specific fields of neuroscience, applied and fundamental biomedical as well as robotic research.
IXL is in charge of the issues of Neuro-vers-IT concerning the design of VLSI neuromorphic devices and the hybrid living-artificial devices.
