MORIN Fabrice

Fabrice Morin was born in Paris in 1975. He obtained an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy in 1999, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Strathclyde (UK) in 2000, as well as a joint PhD from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Japan) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Cachan (France) in 2004. His PhD work involved using microelectrode arrays fitted with microfluidic systems for culturing neural cells. This provided him with the opportunity to explore the influence of the former on the latter.
He then spent 2 years and a half as a post-doc in the Fujita Laboratory (LIMMS-CNRS/IIS, University of Tokyo) where he studied the physics of interdigitated microelectrode arrays used as AC electro-osmotic pumps. He also studied the use of molecular motors as nano-transportation systems, as well as the in vitro self-assembly of their substrate, called microtubules.
His present research is focused on the development of electronic interfaces for real-time closed-loop control of cell chips and prosthetic devices.
